“Magazine 8” article

In 2021, the Dutch healer Martin Veen and his wife, Madeleine Millou from France, decided to move to Bulgaria and settle in a small village between Yambol and Sliven (we shared their story in Issue 11/2022 of Spisanie 8).

Since the beginning of 2023, Martin Veen has been traveling to the capital regularly to conduct energy therapies and Akashic Records sessions. The feedback has been positive: many people share that after the treatment they feel a sense of lightness, the removal of a burden, a release of negative energy, improvement in physical pain, a surge of strength, an improvement in their overall condition, and a renewed desire for life.

“The healing process is different and individual for everyone,” the healer shares, adding: “Everyone must integrate the healing energy in their own way. It is important for a person to love themselves and to make life decisions in the name of their own happiness. With that comes health.”

We meet Martin Veen again one year after his first interview. In the meantime, he has lived between Bulgaria and Greece, visited Sofia three times, and conducted energy therapies with hundreds of Bulgarians.

How do you feel in Bulgaria? What is your impression of the local people?
I first visited Sofia seven years ago, when I conducted my first energy healing sessions with local people. Back then, we never imagined that we would one day move here to live. Bulgaria is a beautiful country. I am impressed by its natural beauty, the generosity of the people, and the opportunities it offers.

The reason we moved to Bulgaria is simple – the nature of its people. At first glance, Bulgarians seem very reserved and unwilling to show or share their feelings and thoughts. But once they see that the person on the other side is sincere and trustworthy, they open up like a flower to the sun.

Bulgaria has a long spiritual history that continues to live in the daily life and even in the genes of its people. This spirituality and trust in their own intuition and senses allow Bulgarians to follow less common paths toward personal growth. In Bulgaria, I met incredible, heartwarming people!

I understand that Bulgarians living abroad are returning home, and that people from the cities are buying rural properties. Bulgarians are resilient despite all the difficulties and truly understand life’s values. That is what I like about Bulgaria.

What are the main reasons people turn to you for energy healing?
An article in Magazine 8 last November introduced me to many people. Thanks to that publication, my mission became known in Bulgaria and allowed me to meet many Bulgarians who are searching for a path to health.

People’s motives for coming to see me are many, but I believe that the faith I speak about and share awakens the senses of those who read and listen. This faith, which exists within all of us, needs care. It allows miracles to happen at all levels of our personal lives. Faith is like a GPS that guides us and keeps us on the path of Jesus’ teachings. Where there is faith, there is no room for doubt. Where there is joy, there is no room for sorrow. Where there is gratitude, there are more gifts.

Sharing this faith opens doors to new perspectives on life in alignment and harmony with the individual. My role is to show these possibilities by opening the door to confidence for new and unexplored steps in life. People come because they realize they will receive support on their path toward achieving their goals and desires.

What are energy therapies, how do they work, and what can people expect if they visit you?
My father had the gift of healing with energy through his hands, and I felt this same energy from childhood. I sensed energies and blockages in people—whether headaches, back pain, or jaw inflammation. I would look at people and see their pain. I used my eyes, senses, and hands to help and even remove the pain and discomfort of those in need.

Later in life, I traveled to the Philippines many times. For 20 years, I repeatedly went there to learn from the healer Alex Orbito and other healers. I was also his assistant.

Now, when I prepare for therapies, I meditate and pray in the days before the treatments. Through prayer and meditation, I connect with my heart and with the people I meet. I have learned to trust the process, to remain calm and at peace. I have faith that the connection with the source will be with me in the necessary moments.

Energy healing is about connecting with the energy of love and transmitting it to the person who needs it. My hands and eyes see where they need to be placed to guide this energy. In fact, your own faith and trust allow you to enhance the effect. We always work as a team. That is why it is important for visitors to prepare as well. Breathe calmly, focus on the desired result, and stay in faith. During and after the treatment, some may feel dizzy, experience warmth where my hands are placed, feel sleepy, or find relief and renewed strength. Definitely allow time to integrate the treatment—stay calm, drink enough water, avoid heavy physical exertion, and go to bed early.

When you gather people in groups, you speak about collective healing energy. How does this process take place?
The preliminary conversation before a group session is one of the most valuable and effective preparations for any treatment. We realize that we are not alone—we can share and exchange thoughts and allow divine silence to arise. In fact, most participants feel a different and higher energy field in the room where we sit together. It truly becomes a collective field of sharing and peace. Everyone is there for themselves, and at the same time, everyone realizes they are being helpful to others in that very moment.

Energy therapies take place individually, in a separate room, but afterward the person returns to the group and can integrate the energy more easily. We advise people to stay a little after the treatment, relax, and become aware of what they felt during the personal session and in the group.

Is a person capable of self-healing, and if so, how?
Self-healing is one of the most difficult things to achieve. Why? Because we are often distracted, doubtful, caught in circles of thoughts, and attached to our habits. Healing cannot occur in the same place where the discomfort was created. In fact, we must “step off the path” to allow healing to enter our lives. Bruce Lipton has said: changing the environment changes the outcome.

How do we heal illness? In English, the word “disease” can be read as “dis-ease”—something that is not at ease. It may be an illness, or it may be a bad habit. Is being negative all the time a bad habit or a disease? The same applies to verbal aggression or bad behavior. Reflecting on these questions, we can also ask: what is healing and health? Is it something we do not have, or something we already possess?

To practice self-healing, a person needs training and knowledge. Let us look at some of my favorite scientists and their view of health—David Hawkins, Joe Dispenza, Bruce Lipton. In their work, they speak about transforming mental thoughts in response at a physical level. This way of thinking allows the body to follow the mind. We know that 95% of our reactions are created in our subconscious. This means we are on autopilot, programmed by our past experiences. When a person enters a state of bliss, negative thoughts have no place. Maintaining this way of life and training the mind requires effort, discipline, and time. Consistent effort leads to abandoning “bad habits.” Energy therapies are great support for maintaining higher vibrations.

What is the big lesson people tend to forget?
Freedom of choice, freedom of speech, and the freedom to be who you are. Be yourself, follow your heart, listen to your intuition, pray, and be grateful for the blessings you receive every day. Giving up this freedom is the beginning of losing your true and divine Self and accepting a state of slavery. Be generous, offer support where you can, be joyful. Your community is the place where you create, give, and find support. Seek the people with whom you love to share things. When you find them, rejoice and celebrate!
