Energy work exists since the beginning of time
Where to begin and where to stop? I guess we do not know the beginning and we do not know where it will stop. When we are starting to read and investigate where to find the sources and origin of these phenomena you might be surprised how old (and how alive) energy work is.
What was discovered and what will be discovered in the time to come
Trance rituals on a cave painting in Lascaux 15,000 BC is one prove found in France, Europe.
The Temple Sleep a phenomenom -similar to hypnosis- goes back to ancient India where the sick often were brought to the temple and via hypnotic suggestions, meditational self-observance and communication with the Gods, where found to be healed.
The Persian Avincenna (980-1037), physician and psychologist, made the first known distinction between sleep and hypnosis in “the book of healing” published in the year 1027.
Paracelcus (1493-1541) was the first physician to use magnets (lodestones) in his work. Many people claimed to be healed after he passed the magnets.
Johann Jospeph Gassner (1727-1779) a catholic priest believed that disease was caused by evil spirits and could be exorcised by incantations and prayer.
Anton Mesmer (1734-1815) used magnets and magnetism in his cures. Mineral magnetism, cosmic magnetism and planetary magnetism where his way to distinguish variants of animal magnetism.
Taking big names in Hypnosis and later on Hypnotherapy is Dr Sigmund Freud (1859-1947) and CG Jung (and of course others too) where great minds in subconscious and conscious treatments, to cure or bring relief to the patient.
Hypnosis as entertainment, hypnosis to help people. Both do make us realize that suggestion accepted by the subconscious and conscious mind, changes a person’s behaviour, emotions, perspective and/or way of thinking.
In China, for millenniums
Acupuncture stimulates the balance and flow of Qi (Chi) energy that in traditional Chinese Medicine is considered essential to health. When the body is healthy, Qi (pronounced chee), flows smoothly through the meridians that make up a conceptual network of pathways throughout the entire body.
In India, for thousands of years
And today still as vibrant and alive as in ancient times: ayurveda, yoga, meditation, traditional medicine, energy work, deep cleaning via diet, physical exercises, breathing techniques, yoga Nidra, praying with mantras to reach ultimate balance and divine connection. All these methods and ancient teachings are alive methods to become aligned. From its origin travelled to other continents where we find at home, just around the corner, many places where we can practice as individual and in groups.
In other cultures, energy work is called healing or faith healing
Healing is the process of restoration of health, from an unbalanced, diseased or damaged organism. The result of healing can be a cure to a health challenge, but one can heal without being cured. Healing can also mean that the client is/becomes able to lead a normal or fulfilling life.
Faith healing is the practice of prayer and gestures (such as laying on of hands) that are believed by some to elicit divine intervention in spiritual and physical healing, especially the Christian practice. Believers assert that the healing of disease and disability can be brought about by religious faith through prayer and/or other rituals that, according to adherents, can stimulate a divine presence and power.
Many people interpret the Bible, especially the New Testament, as teaching belief in, and the practice of, faith healing. Unlike faith healing, advocates of spiritual healing make no attempt to seek divine intervention, instead believing in divine energy.
Conclusions, if any
Hypnosis, hypnotherapy, magnetism, energy medicine, energy therapy, energy healing, vibrational medicine, psychic healing, spiritual medicine, or spiritual healing are branches of alternative or complementary medicine. Some proven and some to be proved.
Without imagination no development. Without re-search nothing is found. Sometimes we have to accept an outcome without understanding it today. For sure our heart knows what to belief.
